The Southerly 28, designed by John Bennett was the design which started the now renowned range of lifting keel cruisers from Southerly. Despite being a design of the 1970’s some of the features found in this little cruiser have carried on to the boats produced today. During a production run spanning 1975 – 1984 a total of 148 boats were built before the updated Southerly 100 started production. With her lifting keel, Southerly’s acknowledged ability to ‘float on a damp lawn’ and pilothouse design the little Southerly 28 offers great accommodation and flexible cruising ability for a boat of her modest size.

In need of some cosmetic re-finishing ASSEGAI is going to be treated to a winter under cover with her new owners embarking on a re-fit this winter. We look forward to seeing a modernised ASSEGAI on the water next summer with her new owners and their children enjoying this fantastic boat.
