OYSTER 37 ‘PRIME CUT’ – SOLD

Oyster 37 for sale

In the midst of the Corona Virus lockdown Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the Oyster 37 ‘PRIME CUT’.

The Holeman & Pye Oyster 37 is a true cruiser-racer, not to be confused with the cruising orientated Oyster 37 Heritage. Designed in the era of IOR rules the hull shape is classic of its time with nipped in ends, a generous beam aft of midships and the tumbleholme topsides. All designed to maximise performance under the IOR rating system. With her powerful masthead rig, featuring hydraulic tensioners the Oyster 37 was at the cutting edge of technology during the brief production run between 1979 and 1981.

PRIME CUT is understood to have been built by the company to compete in the tragic 1979 Fastnet event. The boat built from new with the optional hydraulic rig tensioners, larger winches and wheel steering. In need of some TLC to bring her back to her former glory her new owner, an experienced boatbuilder plans to treat her to a full refit over the next couple of years after which she will become a family boat; introducing the next generation of sailors to life afloat.

We look forward to seeing a refreshed ‘PRIME CUT’ on the water in 2021 and wish the family many years of fun aboard this classic cruiser-racer.
