We are delighted to have been appointed to act in the sale of the wonderfully well presented Rival 36 ‘Paramour De Mer’.

The Rival 36 was the last of the Rival designs to be drawn by Peter Brett, the man responsible for creating the Rival brand and its iconic reputation as a robust reliable cruiser. Built by Southern Boatbuilding Company there were a total of 78 hulls produced in the class. ‘Paramour de Mer’ was built for the Southampton Boat Show in 1988, number 50 of the class. At that time the Company was trying to get into the North American market. She has the Lead Scheel Keel, and  Mk2 Layout, Tall mast (+5’), Saloon bulkhead teak posts and much larger gas locker. She is offered for sale with a sizeable inventory highlights of which are:

  • Preventative epoxy treatment applied to underwater hull (2003 & 2013)
  • Topsides painted with Awlgrip two-pack paint system (2013).
  • Standing rigging replaced fully in 2015.
  • Down wind Tradewind rig, with twin headsails.
  • Extensive sail wardrobe including storm sails.
  • Monitor windvane system
  • Air Breeze wind generator
