Introduced in 1969 the Elizabethan was David Thomas’s first commercially successful design. Conceived as a masthead cruiser racer with a moderate fin keel and skeg-hung rudder the boats are known for being well-balanced and rewarding to sail, particularly in heavier weather. As with many of these older cruiser racer designs the Elizabethan 30 now makes an excellent quick cruising yacht with her classic looks.
The Elizabethan 30 MkII ROSIE KEEPING is believed to have been displayed at the 1974 Earls Court London Boatshow. A much loved example of the class she benefits from extensive re-fitting and upgrading in recent years; boasting a comprehensive inventory which includes highlights such as:
The Elizabethan 30 ‘ROSIE KEEPING’ must be one of the best equipped classic cruising yachts currently available in the UK. Winter afloat she is available for immediate viewing by appointment.
OWNER’S COMMENTS:
‘I have owned Rosie Keeping since 2014. During this time, we have cruised her extensively on the West Coast of Scotland and up to the Orkney and Shetland Isles. During my ownership as well as regular maintenance I have upgraded her and she is particularly well suited for short or single-handed sailing, with self-tailing primary winches, mainsail stack pack system, Raymarine EVO autopilot integrated to Raymarine e7 Chartplotter and electric windlass with controls in the cockpit. Being a David Thomas design she is a fast boat with excellent handling under sail. With a nearly 50% ballast ratio she is very stiff and is particularly good to windward in strong winds. She offers surprisingly good accommodation for her size, with standing headroom due to her deep cabin sole. Now for sale due to the purchase of a larger boat she will be sorely missed.’
