A very special piece of Feadship history she is Feadship Hull 008 and believed to be the oldest surviving Feadship.
Launched as ANAHITA V in 1952 (subsequently renamed MOSSIE, YANKEE, CLIPPER III, BEAU GESTE, INSPIRATION and LA VIE VITE before returning to her original name), this supremely elegant 25m twin-screw Gentleman’s motor yacht was at the time of her launch, the largest Feadship to be constructed and the very first yacht from the company to be imported into the US. As Feadship’s first ‘superyacht’, ANAHITA V in many ways defined the business model that the company has since used to become arguably the most famous and most highly regarded of all superyacht builders.
Having spent the first part of her life on the East Coast of the United States, she then moved across to California where she was cruised between San Diego and Mexico. Having been seized by the US authorities for ‘undeclared importations’, she spent several years in federal ownership before being auctioned in the 1980’s. Her next owner enjoyed her a liveaboard for the following thirty years before she was sold on again to an American owner who planned a complete restoration.
Remarkable in her level of originality, ANAHITA V is now in need of complete renovation and restoration. Generating an exceptional level of interest across the globe our clients; Ferguson Marine Ltd; are delighted to have completed the sale of the motor yacht to a buyer based in Scotland. Her restoration will be completed in Scotland in the coming years. We look forward to following her story and seeing this elegant motor yacht returned to former glory.
