Description

Nimbus motorboats offer those making the move from sail to power the perfect compromise. Built to a high standard with an attention to detail lacking in most production power boats they are design with a focus on practicality and function. The hull of the Nimbus 31 Ultima proved extremely successful and underpinned a total of 4 different models over the years.

AMBER is presented afloat and in commission. In recent years she has benefitted from upgraded including:

CONSTRUCTION

Hull Construction:
Single piece, hand consolidated GRP moulding
Laminated internal hull transverse and longitudinal stiffening members
Plywood bulkheads laminated into hull
Semi-displacement hull form with small keel/shaft log aft
Externally finished in off-white gelcoat with blue style lines
Hull finished below the waterline in navy antifouling, applied spring 2022

Deck & Superstructure Construction:
Single piece, hand consolidated GRP moulding.
Integrally moulded hard top, cockpit & bathing platform
Curved forward windscreen with seperate side windows in alloy frame work.
Decks finished with moulded non-slip panels.
Rubber fendering rub rail fitted around hull to deck joint.
External finish in off-white gelcoat with blue style lines.

Keel & Rudder:
Skeg keel, formed as apart of hull
Bronze plate rudder supported on bronze skeg fitting

ACCOMMODATION

Description of Accommodation from Forward:

Forward Cabin:
Accessed by a central companionway from the cockpit.
Centrally mounted saloon table with wrap around seating in a U-shape forward.
Storage units at the aft end of the seating port and starboard.
Table drops down and infill cushion creates large double berth forward.
Opening deck hatch provides light and ventilation with portlights in hull port and starboard providing additional natural light.

Heads:
Located to starboard of the companionway forward.
Self contained compartment with easy clean moulded finish with varnished teak trims.
Manual marine toilet outboard.
Counter top and inset stainless steel wash hand basin forward
Vanity unit beneath counter top

Pilot Cabin:
Located to port at the aft end of the forward living space.
Spacious single berth running under the cockpit along the port side.
Small standing area forward with storage locker outboard
Opening portlight allowing in natural light and ventilation.

Cockpit:
Occupying the central part of the boat the elevated cockpit accommodates the helm and navigators seating, galley area and aft cockpit seating.
The hard top covers the majority of the cockpit with only the aft seating area being under the cockpit tent extension.
Helm station forward to starboard with dedicated seat, engine controls and navigation instrumentation all mounted forward and outboard.
Sliding hatches are provided in the hard top above both helm and navigators seating.
Navigators seating to port with grab handle and small chart table working area.
Wrap around seating is provided in a U-shape at the aft end of the cockpit with a centrally mounted, removable drop leaf table providing a secondary saloon which enjoys panoramic views.

Galley:
Located immediately aft of Helm and navigators seating within cockpit.
Gas cooker to port with small storage locker beneath the cooker and navigators seating.

Low Profile Cockpit Cover - No framework. Runs from hard top to deck. Heavy duty cover, ideal for winter.
Cabin Top Hatch Cover - With removable section in way of helm station sliding roof hatch.

Anchoring & Mooring:
Bower Anchor - 10kg Bruce anchor on 37m, calibrated 5/16ths chain. Stainless steel joining link fitted to extend chain.
