Owned by the same family since she was launched in Buckie as a new build GALENA has had an interesting history from the start. The Jones of Buckie London Boatshow Exhibit in 1967. The original visitors book still accompanies the boat and boast the signature of then Prime Minister Edward Heath amongst others. In total approximately 20 of the class were built with a further number of larger variants built up to 40′.
In her early years she made her way through the French canals to the Mediterranean before being based on the island of Malta for over a decade. Making her way back North again through the French canals she has been based on the West Coast for the last 30+ years. With her new owner looking to restore her fully for use as a live aboard we look forward to seeing her back in regular use around the coast of Scotland.
