PRICE REDUCTION – Cheverton 33 CRAZY DIAMOND

Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce a revised asking price for the Cheverton 33 ‘CRAZY DIAMOND’.

David Cheverton served as an apprentice under the revered designer Uffa Fox at the Medina Yard on the Isle of Wight before starting his own company with two parnters, based at West Medina Mills on the banks of the Medina river. This partnership was responsible for many popular designs ranging from the award winning 23ft sailing sloop ‘Caravel’ through to the 60’ ketch ‘Bondicar’. Alongside designing yachts for building in house they also produced designs for other private individuals and yards to build. Yachts were primarily built using kiln dried African Mahogany using a strip planking method.

Designed and built as MICRONETTE, later renamed CRAZY DIAMOND the Cheverton 33 was produced for John Brittan and Desmond Norman, known for their aircraft production company Brittan Norman. Built by R.J. Clarke on the Isle of Wight the design was a modern take on the traditional timber-built yachts of the era with her fuller beam carried aft and reverse rake transom. Proving to be a successful design the yacht was a trialist for the 1964 Admirals Cup team.

Re-named CRAZY DIAMOND the Cheverton 33 has benefitted from extensive re-building in the current ownership. With her systems upgraded and modernised as part of the re-fit she has provided the owners with much enjoyment since her relaunch in 2015. Now reluctantly offered for sale she is offered with an inventory which includes:

Still being used and enjoyed by her current owner CRAZY DIAMOND is currently cruising around the west coast of Scotland and will be available for viewing in Arisiag or nearby by prior arrangement.
