Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to be appointed to act in the sale of the 2008 RM Yachts 1050 ‘KNOYDART’.
Everyone knows when an RM Yachts creation sails past. The hard-chined hull and sleek modern lines with flush foredeck and open transom are immediately recognisable. Introduced in 2009 the RM1050 is the most popular design from the French builder to date, remaining in production through until 2011. The basic hull of the RM1050 has gone on to underpin its successors with small tweaks to the bow and stern for the launch of the RM1060 and RM1070.
The RM1050 with its modern lines has much in common with the sportier offerings from the likes of Pogo and Django with its flat underwater sections and beamy aft sections providing great performance under sail. RM have deliberately steered away from the minimalist Mini Transat styling found with other builders taking the time to create modern performance cruisers which offer the comfort long-distance cruisers require.
KNOYDART is a one-owner example of the RM1050. Since her delivery trip from the factory to Scotland under her own keel she has proved immensely capable; completing a 2-year Caribbean circuit between 2015 and 2017. Since new she has enjoyed continual professional maintenance with a comprehensive inventory including highlights such as:

Founded by Jean-Claude Oudry in 1989 the RM range of yachts immediately stood out from the normal production yachts. All yachts being built of epoxy impregnated marine plywood with an internal metal structure carrying the loads for the keels and rig. The first model from this new yard was the RM 900.
In 1995 the respected racing yacht designer Marc Lombard came on board with the company to deliver the designs for the next generation of RM yachts. This relationship between yard and designer has stood the test of time and the Marc Lombard Design Group have now produced the designs of 8 RM models.
The yard has enjoyed a successful 30 years of production. Winning two European Yacht of the Year awards in the last 10 years for the RM1260 & RM970. With demand continuing to grow the company moved to a new purpose-built factory in 2017.
