The introduction of the Nicholson 32 in 1963 marked the advent of series GRP production boat building in the UK. In the following 20 years the Nicholson 32 would see a total of 11 different marks produced, each honing the design and improving its appeal to buyers. The introduction of the MkX in 1972 saw a fundamental re-design of the hull with a completely new deck moulding. The hull for the MkX was lengthened slightly in aft end with the freeboard increased. The deck and cockpit were also completely replaced with a new design modernising the appearance while improving living space below and providing a larger cockpit, better protected from the elements.
The Nicholson 32 MkX LANAI has been in the ownership of the same family since 1978. She has proven to be a dependable and loyal member of the family cruising in the waters of Scotland predominately with periods based abroad while cruising in Brittany, France and Majorca.
