Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the sale of the 1987 Nauticat 35 ‘OCEAN BLUE’.

Nauticat built their reputation with solidly built and well finished motorsailers which motored better than they sailed. Alongside this they also built a range of ‘Pilothouse Sailing Yachts’ aimed at the sailor wanting the protection of a wheelhouse without compromising the sailing performance of their yacht. The pilot house range retain the solid build and high-quality finish above and below decks while being designed with sail power as the primary mode of propulsion.

The Nauticat 35 OCEAN BLUE is the very first of the Nauticat 35’s to be launched and differs from the final production version slightly with her keel stepped mast. With her current owners since 2009 she has benefitted from continual upgrading and maintenance. Her extensive inventory includes:

  • Original gelcoat finish externally with white topsides and blue style stripes
  • Underwater hull finished in navy antifouling (applied March 2022)
  • External lead ballast keel
  • Ford Lehman 1.6XLD, 45hp, serviced February 2022
  • Bronze P-bracket, replaced 2018
  • PSS dripless shaft seal (2011)
  • Scanmar Autohelm windvane self-steering system with auxiliary Rudder/Trimtab
  • Raymarine autopilot. Smartpilot course computer, dual control stations, Raymarine hydraulic drive unit
  • Raymarine i50 Tri-Data system – Speed/Log/Depth (2017)
  • Raymarine ST60+ Wind system
  • Raymarine Axiom 9 chart plotter (2019)
  • Raymarine AIS650 transceiver (2019)
  • Standard Horizon VHF/AIS receiver radio with secondary CommandMic (2010)
  • Merlin SmartGauge battery monitor system (2013)
  • Standing rigging of 1×19 stainless steel with chromed bronze rigging screws replaced 2017
  • Profurl C350 roller reefing system on forestay fitted new with forestay wire in 2012
  • Guard wires running around forward deck (replaced 2017)
  • Rocna 25kg on chain rode, all new 2015
  • Inflatable dinghy with outboard

Due for collection by her new owners and a delivery crew later in the month the Nauticat 35 OCEAN BLUE will be sailed south to her new home port of Ipswich during August. We wish her new owners a safe passage for this first shake down trip.
