Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the 1986 Moody 31 MkII ‘HALCYON’.

The Bill Dixon designed Moody 31MkII was introduced in 1985 to refine and modernise the popular MkI version of the design, launched in 1983. The Moody 31 proved to be one of the most popular designs the British builder produced offer a great layout with the benefit of a spacious aft cabin. The MkII design featured a slightly tweaked layout below decks and a sugar scoop style transom. The design ceased production in 1991 with over 300 examples leaving the factory during that period.

An early example of the MkII design the Moody 31MkII HALCYON is a fin keeled, tiller steered version. Lying ashore since 2018 she has been cleaned and re-commissioned in the spring of 2022. Her inventory includes:

  • 2 blade, bronze folding propellor (2011)

Lying ashore in Port Bannatyne, Isle of Bute the Moody 31MkII HALCYON is going to be recommissioned and launched before being motored to a mainland marina for onward transportation to her new home waters around Kent. We wish he new owners the best of luck as they commence a re-fit this coming winter.
