Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the Channel Island 22 ‘BILLY BLUE’.

Built by Silva Yates Plastics in Jersey to an Alan Buchanan design, the Channel Island 22 is a very popular workmanlike boat. She is easily handled and is especially noted for her sturdy sea-keeping abilities. An ideal small coastal cruiser: tough, fun, safe and capable.

BILLY BLUE is later example of the Channel Island 22 class built-in 1989 with the twin engine configuration. In recent ownerships she has benefitted from significant upgrading and refitting; highlights including:

• Professional osmosis treatment in 2010
• Topsides professionally re-paint with two-pack paint in 2010
• Rewired shore power system in marine-grade tinned cable and a galvanic
isolator in 2018.
• Tubular davits fitted in 2017.
• Wallas paraffin fired galley stove / cabin heater fitted in 2016.

Sold during the COVID-19 lockdown she is heading south on a truck to her new home port in Preston. A step up from her new owners previous Hardy 20 she will be used for coastal and weekend cruising around the Solway Firth, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland. We hope her new owners gets the same pleasure from her as her current owners.
