Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the Bavaria Match 35 ‘FIRESTARTER’.

The Bavaria Match series of yachts were conceived by Doug Peterson to create an optimised IMS racing yacht; capable of podium regatta finishes while offering all the comfort of their cruising cousins for use as a holiday cruiser. The Bavaria Match 35 did not have the extreme keel designs of her larger sisters and has proved to be the best compromise of the design series. Her high aspect rig, slippery hull and deep keel have created a 35’ yacht which performs well while providing two double cabins below decks with the modern amenities expected of any modern cruising yacht.

Winning her class in the Round The Island Race FIRESTARTER has proven to live up to the designer’s expectations. Based in Scotland for the last few years she has also proven to be a rewarding cruiser, capable of making very quick passages. Benefitting from a comprehensive maintenance regime she has been upgraded to suit use as a cruiser and her inventory highlights include:

• Steering system overhauled with new rudder, bearings and seals 2017
• Volvo Penta MD2020, professionally rebuilt 2018

Using modern technology we conducted a series of ‘virtual viewings’ with potential buyers across Europe before securing a sale with a buyer based in Sweden. Due to leave the UK in the next 5 days FIRESTARTER will be safely back in Sweden before BREXIT.
