43′ Jones of Buckie MFV style Motoryacht ‘BANAMHAIGHSTIR’ – SOLD

Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the G.L. Watson designed, Jones of Buckie built MFV style Motoryacht ‘BANAMHAIGHSTIR’

Built as a pleasure craft in the style of a traditional Scottish MFV ‘BANAMHAIGHSTIR’ is well presented having been professionally maintained and upgraded since new. Benefitting from never having been commercially worked she is a unique find. In the current ownership BANAMHAIGSTIR has extensively cruised the waters around Scotland and ventured as far North as the Arctic circle on a 9 week expedition voyage. She has proved to be a robust and reliable boat capable of looking after her crew in the open ocean. She would be ideally suited for use as an expedition motor yacht or comfortable live aboard.

Fitted out in the current configuration below decks by the yard she if fitted out to a high standard for the style of vessel. The attention to detail in the original build is evident throughout; for example ventilation holes at the top and bottom of all hull lining panels ensuring the boat can breathe. Her extensive inventory includes highlights such as:

  • Larch on oak hull construction built to the same scantilings as a working MFV.
  • Copper sheathed hull since build.
  • Alloy deckhouse.
  • Ketch rig with steadying sail and genoa.
  • Kelvin T4 Marine diesel engine, only 2320 recorded running hours.
  • 2000 mile range under engine.
  • Beta Marine 6.5Kva Genset.
  • Onboard fuel polishing system.
  • Hydraulic windlass and hydraulic capstan.
  • Three independent heating systems.
  • Master cabin aft with en-suite heads and shower.
  • Three berth cabin forward with en-suite heads and shower.
  • Furuno and Garmin navigation instrumentation.

Launched for sea trials she will now start her trip back to the place of her building in the North East of Scotland and her new home port of Stonehaven. A truly unique boat now with an enthusiastic new owner we wish him calm seas for the delivery trip.
