1998 Maxi 1000 ‘PASSING CLOUD’ – SOLD

Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the 1998 Maxi 1000 ‘PASSING CLOUD’.

The Maxi 1000 was a huge success by any measure with the builders producing around a 1000 examples over a 10 year production run. Designed by the champion Olympic sailor Pelle Petterson the Maxi 1000 was a performance cruiser which offered rewarding sailing performance with an easily handled fractional rig and self-tacking staysail. Below decks a range of finishes were offered to suit those who wished to use the boat for racing and those who wished to cruise in comfort.

The Maxi 1000 PASSING CLOUD is a nicely presented example of the model, boasting the enhanced interior package, including Alcantara upholstery. With her owner ‘swallowing the anchor’ she is offered with a full inventory including highlights such as:

  • Teak decking panels to finish cockpit sole, seating and coaming tops
  • Volvo Penta MD2020 marine diesel engine
  • Saildrive hull diaphragm replaced 2019
  • Shore power system with ring main, battery charger and water heater
  • Raytheon autohelm system
  • Autohelm ST50 Navigation Instrumentation
  • Raytheon chart plotter displays in cockpit and at Nav Station
  • Garmin GPS
  • Fractional rig with Furlex roller reefing system for self-tacking jib.

Wintering ashore PASSING CLOUD will remain in Argyll for the winter before moving to her new home port on the Clyde with her new owner in the spring. We wish her new owners fair winds and calm seas for their first season of yacht ownership in 2022.
