A robust, go-anywhere blue water cruiser, with traditional sweeping lines and a long encapsulated keel the Giles 38 was designed in 1971 by Laurent Giles. Moulded by Blondecell Mouldings the hull and decks were supplied to professional yard and amateurs alike to fit out. The design evolved with a short counter transom to become the Laurent Giles Bowman 40, built between 1972 and 1986.
HARAMBE was fitted out by her original owner over a six-year period. The finish is to a standard you would expect from a professional builder. Laid out below decks to accommodate a maximum of seven she has proven to be a reliable and safe ocean cruiser. Handed over to her new owners afloat in Rhu Marina and ready to sail away HARAMBE will take her new owners to explore the Scottish islands over the next couple of months before turning south and heading to southern Europe for the winter.
