The Fisher 34 Mk2 is thought by many to be the last ‘Real Fisher 34’, later examples of the class being built with the sloop rig in place of the traditional ketch configuration. Offering the optimum mix of timeless looks, comfortable accommodation with the ketch rig is ideally suited to a motor sailer. The boat, perfectly balanced in heavy weather with only the mizzen and genoa set. The mizzen also being a valuable steadying sail when motoring in a beam sea.
Hull number 89, the Fisher 34 MkII AZIMUT was purchased by her current owners in 2019, lying in the Netherlands after an extensive search for the right example of this successful Fisher design. During 2019 she was cruised back to the UK and has since been based in Oban, used for cruising the Scottish west coast and islands. Fastidiously maintained she was handed over to her new owners recommissioned and afloat, ready to make the most of the 2025 season. She will set off for her new home mooring in Tayvallich this week.
