Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the 1988 Rival 36 ‘PARAMOUR DE MER’.

First launched in 1980 the Rival 36 was the last of the Rival designs to be drawn by Peter Brett, the man responsible for creating the Rival brand and its iconic reputation as a robust reliable cruiser. Originally built by Southern Boatbuilding Company before the the merging of the Rival and Bowman brands there was reportedly a total of 78 hulls produced in the class before production ceased in the mid 1990’s.

‘PARAMOUR DE MER’ was built for the Southampton Boat Show in 1988 at a time when the Company was trying to get into the North American market. She has the lead Scheel Keel, and  Mk2 Layout, Tall mast (+5’), Saloon bulkhead teak posts and a much larger gas locker. Lying ashore for the winter at Kerrera Marina, Oban she was handed over to her new owners who will be counting down the days until the arrival of spring and the start of their first sailing season as owners of this magnificent Rival 36.
