43' Jones of Buckie 'BANAMAHAIGHSTER'

Mark Cameron Yachts are delighted to announce the successful sale of the 1984 43′ Jones of Buckie Motoryacht/MFV ‘BANAMHAIGHSTER’.

We were delighted to be able to offer this unique vessel for sale again. With her current owner since 2020 the sale of BANAMHAIGSTER is being forced by a family bereavement. In the past two year the vessel has benefitted from a light re-fit and cosmetic refinishing. She is offered for sale afloat, in commission and ready for immediate viewing.

With her previous owner BANAMHAIGSTER cruised the water so Scotland extensively and ventured as far North as the Arctic circle on a 9 week expedition voyage. She has proved to be a robust and reliable boat capable of looking after her crew in the open ocean. She would be ideally suited for use as an expedition motor yacht or comfortable live aboard.

Fitted out in the current configuration below decks by the original builders she if fitted out to a high standard for the style of vessel. The attention to detail in the original build is evident throughout; for example ventilation holes at the top and bottom of all hull lining panels ensuring the boat can breathe. Her extensive inventory includes highlights such as:

  • Larch on oak hull construction built to the same scantilings as a working MFV.
  • Copper sheathed hull since build.
  • Hull fully re-painted 2021
  • Alloy deckhouse – Stripped, repainted and re-finished in traditional wood grain. 2021
  • Ketch rig with steadying sail and genoa.
  • All spars stripped to bare timber and re-finished with Deks Olje in 2021
  • Kelvin T4 Marine diesel engine, only 2467 recorded running hours.
  • 2000 mile range under engine.
  • Beta Marine 6.5Kva Genset.
  • Onboard fuel polishing system.
  • Hydraulic windlass and hydraulic capstan.
  • Three independent heating systems.
  • Master cabin aft with en-suite heads and shower.
  • New Jabsoc manual marine toilets fitted 2021
  • Three berth cabin forward with en-suite heads and shower.
  • Furuno and Garmin navigation instrumentation.

Benefitting from a fastidious maintenance regime with her current and previous owners she is in exceptional condition for a vessel of this style. Handed over to her new owner in Stonehaven Harbour BANAMHAIGSTER will slip out the harbour later this week to steam south to her new home port in Northumberland. We wish her new owners flat seas for the delivery trip, not that the weather will bother this immensely capable boat.
