The Rival 38 was the fifth Peter Brett designed Rival, conceived to fill the gap between the highly successful Rival 34 and the flagship Rival 41. Designed with fuller ends than the smaller Rivals and using a clever raised companionway deck layout the Rival 38A benefits from having a twin aft cabin. The Peter Brett designed Rivals have proven to be highly capable offshore cruising yachts and are highly sought after by blue water cruisers around the world.
The Rival 38A JACOBUS has benefitted from a continual program of professional maintenance during the current ownership. Her inventory highlights include:
Wintering afloat on her berth at Port Bannatyne Marina on the Isle of Bute the Rival 38A JACOBUS will remain on her berth until the spring before moving to her new mooring slightly further up the Clyde. Her new owner has plans for setting off on Blue Water Adventures in the coming years and we look forward to hearing where he gets to with this lovely classic offshore cruiser.
