The Westerly Pentland was one model of five production models to be based around the same Laurent Giles designed 31’s hull. All models, Berwick, Longbow, Renown and Westerly 31 proved to popular reliable and powerful cruising yachts. Each model featuring a slightly different configuration of rig and deck.
The ketch rigged example of the hull. The Westerly Pentland has her rig extended forward by means of a short hardwood bowsprit with the mizzen mast located in the cockpit. Offering a spacious layout below decks for a boat of the era the design also boasts a separated aft cabin with two single bunks.
