SULA is a well presented example of the Hanse 385 class. Designed by the highly regarded Judel & Vorlijk the design offers a modern take on the conventional 38 foot cruising yacht. The sleek appeance and clutter free decks with self-tacking jib produce a boat which is easily handled short or single handed while providing rewarding performance under sail. Below decks the modern design sees large open living spaces with lots of storage creating a comfortable and light living space.
SULA is currently MCA CAT 2 coded and operating as a charter boat in the North West of Scotland. She has been operated by the current owners since 2013 and during this period has enjoyed continual maintenance. Below decks she has three double cabins with the saloon converting to provide an additional occasional double, comfortable accommodation for a crew of eight. Offered for sale with a complete inventory she comes with everything required to continue operating in the charter market or to be enjoyed as a private yacht. Her inventory includes full laid teak decks and cockpit, self tacking job and tender with outboard.
Currently lying afloat in the North West of Scotland; easily accessible from Inverness Airport. Viewing is by prior appointment.

'Hanse Yachts builds performance-oriented yachts at affordable prices, all designed by Judel and Vrolijk. Hanse’s current sailboat range incorporates a great many practical innovations suggested by previous owners, and the 385 is a very different boat from its predecessor, the 375. More akin to the Hanse 445, 495 and 545, the Hanse 385 boasts twin helms and a drop-down stern platform. She also has improved sailing performance and a sleek, clutter-free deck with flush hatches and hidden control lines.....'

The 385 is a sensibly designed yacht full of practical innovations that can only have been created by someone who knows exactly what it’s like to go cruising under sail. Though she’s not exactly traditional in the classic sense, for a modern boat built to a price, she is surprisingly well thought through and is a sparkling performer under sail.'

Sail Magazine. 'Sailing the Hanse 385'. Duncan Kent, March 2014.

'Elegance, speed and excellent sailing qualities are standard, as are the selftacking jib and twin-wheel steering. Would you like a fold-out swimming platform, teak deck, a cockpit table with an integrated chartplotter or elegant composite steering wheels? Decide for yourself!

Internationally renowned designers have been concentrating on the style, functions and design of the loft-style yacht interiors. We have invented the HANSE Individual Cabin Concept just for you, as we strongly feel that you should benefit from the variability of the cabin concepts. And of course, you decide on the selection of wood, materials and colours. We could not take that away from you.
The HANSE 385 is actually already perfect, but you can still make it better. You can add a heater or air conditioner, high-end navigation electronics, a cockpit refrigerator box or a classically laid teak deck. We have turned lots of popular extras into shrewd feature packages. It is the details that make a perfect yacht your dream boat.
A yacht’s cabin concept has to account for the demands and habits of both captain and crew. We do not feel it right to decide if you require three cabins, or if the pantry with large work areas and maximum storage space is essential. HANSE invented the Individual Cabin Concept, and with it a freedom of design that can only be achieved on individualised yachts – all at the standard price.
We are the third largest series yacht builder in the world and build your HANSE using the most advanced assembly line technology. Designers use the latest CATIA V5 software to create components which are precise and millimetre accurate. Hundreds of clever minds and skilled hands contribute to every HANSE yacht. But no amount of technology can replace passion, experience and respect for the sea. A HANSE yacht is created at the waterfront, there where sailing is at home.
