The Dufour Grand Large series are the French builders cruising orientated designs. Umberto Felci; responsible also for Dufours Performance range of yachts, has taken his Italian flair and the striking lines of the performance designs, tweaking the hull and rig dimensions to suit the cruising sailor. The Grand Large yachts feature generally deeper hulls with fuller sections forward and aft, increasing the internal volume and available living space. With slightly shorter rigs and keels than their performance counterparts the GL series is a family orientated boat ideal for spending longer periods aboard.
ESSENESS is a one-owner example of the Dufour Grand Large 455, featuring as the Southampton Boatshow boat in 2005. She features the 3-cabin layout with en-suite master cabin forward and twin double aft cabins. Providing a generous living space below decks she also features a spacious cockpit with walk-thru transom. Her current owners have operated her as a highly successful skippered charter business around the west coast of Scotland until 2019.
