The Colvic Atlanta design was well received while in production and proved to be a popular alternative to the expensive Fisher 30. Offering considerably more internal volume with a more practical living space its easy to understand why.
SONAS is a home completed version of the class, finished in a conventional layout with 4 berths and the deckhouse galley. Benefitting from tentative care from her current owner she has been upgraded in recent years. Inventory highlights include:

Colvic Craft moulded hulls and decks under contract for many of the prominent UK based boat builders in the 1970's and 80's. Alongside producing its own range of boats which were available to purchase as kits for home or professional completion. The company gained a good reputation for the quality and finish of its mouldings.

SONAS is the conventional four berth layout of the class. Below decks she has been fitted out with plywood bulkheads and furniture bases with hardwood trims. The wood work is painted out with a satin off-white paint contrasting against the stained hardwood trims.
The upholstery throughout has been replaced during the current ownership.
Description of accommodation from forward:
Forward Cabin - Double V-berth. Storage locker outboard to starboard at aft end of cabin space.
Heads - Separate heads compartment outboard to port. Manual Lavac marine toilet mounted outboard.
Saloon - Occupying the full width of the boat, accessed by steps from the deckhouse. Bench settee running along the starboard side with U-shaped settee to port. Bench settee converts to large single berth. Outboard section of U-shaped settee converts to single berth, infill section could be added to create a double berth. Storage lockers outboard of seatbacks. Bin lockers beneath seats.
Galley - Located at aft end of deckhouse to port. L-shaped galley. worktop aft with stainelss steel sink outboard. Gimbal mounted stove outboard forward. Storage lockers below worktop.
Deckhouse - Laid out with galley at aft end. Helm station forward to port. Access to below decks accommodation to starboard. Helmsman's seat aft of dashboard with wheel and single lever engine control. All switches are within easy reach of the helm seat. Navigation instruments mounted within easy reach of the helm seat. Storage lockers outboard of deckhouse to port and starboard.

The engine space is located beneath the deckhouse sole. Access to the space is provided by means of two larger opening hatched in the sole. The supporting bar in way of the hatch is removable to provide full engine access.
